DIY Miniature Ghosts

You may have wondered from my previous posts about the haunted dollhouse how to make these little guys. Well, they're actually quite simple to put together.

All you need are wooden peg dolls {about 2 to 3 inches high}, flowing fabric, hot glue and
black puff paint.

Cut your fabric into squares about 8 x 8 inches and drape it on top of the wooden peg doll to create the illusion of a ghost. Add a dab of hot glue to the top of the peg dolls to secure the fabric. Make a facewith two dots of black puff paint and some makeup blush if you have it. Enjoy!

A Proper Haunted Dollhouse

Haunted House DIY Lady Lucas

Ok, I am feeling like a child again right now as I reveal my haunted dollhouse to you this week. It took a little over a week to complete {about an hour or two a day}... but it was totally worth it!

Haunted House DIY Lady Lucas

In my previous posts, I told you that I bought the dollhouse puzzle kit at Michael's, and the paint I used was from DecoArt.

As far as the interior and exterior decorations, I used stickers from Michael's and rubber stamps from my own line of 'Lady Lucas' designs carried by Craffiti Direct.

The miniatures were collected for many years by me from various stores. The cute little crystal ball I made myself from a marble and some polymer clay!

A.C. Moore, Michael's and Hobby Lobby all have great minis that would look fabulous in your own haunted dollhouse... small gift retailers also have awesome additions this time of year.

As far as the ghosts... I'll be posting a little 'how to' for you here next week!

I bought these tiny lights at a store in downtown Lancaster and they work perfectly to light my spooky space up at night.

Haunted House | Part II

haunted dollhouse by lady lucas

A week ago I excitedly put together my haunted 'dollhouse' and now I'm happy to share the completed house painted. I used paints mainly from DecoArt and enjoyed how the neon colors came out. Mixed with grey accents, they really make the whole thing pop!

The interior was lots of fun as well. Just comment below if you'd like to know the particular name of any of the colors...

Stay tuned for next week's post which will reveal the entire house decorated for Halloween!

Books for Sale!

Hanging out at my recent 'Angry Artist' book signing last Friday
Every week I get lots of questions as to how to purchase my books online and in stores. It's a bit complicated because they span a couple of different websites, so I've decided to add a post detailing information on each. Feel free to also visit this page on my website.

My newest book... a perfect gift for adult creatives as well.

Two dozen crafting ideas tried and tested on my art students over the years.

Three Halloween outcasts prove being different can be cool.
Great for ages 4-8 years.
A wonderful book written by Teresa Chi! The story is a song too ;)

Multiple coloring books including vegetarian and New York cuisine as well as holiday characters and animals.

Happy Reading!

Character Craft: Napkin Ghosties

step one: lay one napkin flat, and
roll the other in a ball in the center.

step two: wrap the flat napkin over and
around the crumpled one to form a ghost.  tie
with a cord tightly.

step three & four: add a face using permanent
marker.  clip a safety pin on top so the ghost
can hang on something!

step five: hang the ghost from a white or black
thin cord and watch him float into your
heart! ;)

Dear All,  From now on I'll be adding some crafts on the blog to whet your appetite for more Lady Lucas goodness.  Please comment below to tell me what you think!!  Love & Little Pumpkins, LL
