One of my favorite 'secret' spots in New York City is St. Luke's Gardens on Hudson Street. This beautiful little city getaway is located around the corner from the Christopher Street PATH train and is a lovely place to sit and reflect.
The garden lies beyond a brick wall on Hudson Street and contains beautiful flowers, herbs, planters and tons of sparrows looking for a treat from visitors.
For the tourist looking for a truly quiet space when visiting NYC, I highly recommend stopping by. Also a great spot for locals to do some work in notebook or on your laptop.
My trip to the gardens inspired an idea for an illustration which I'll post below ;)
Happy August!
